Information We Collect

You do not need to create an account or provide any personal information to use the core features of the app, such as viewing the Igbo calendar, market days, cultural events, prayers, and learning materials.

Automatically collected information

We use Google Firebase and Google AdMob, which may automatically collect:

• Device and usage information (e.g. device type, operating system, app interactions) via Firebase Analytics, used to understand how the app is used and to improve it.
• A device token used by Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver push notifications (for example, about new cultural events or learning materials). This token is not tied to any name or email address we hold.
• Advertising identifiers and related data collected by Google AdMob, used to display and measure in-app ads. Depending on your device settings, ads may be personalized or non-personalized.

Information collected from our staff

A small, separate admin dashboard lets our internal content team manage calendar events, prayers, and learning materials. Accounts on that dashboard collect a name, email address, and password (stored hashed). This is unrelated to, and not accessible from, the public mobile app.

Information you provide directly

If you email us for support or feedback, we will have the contents of that message and your email address, which we use only to respond to you.

How We Use Information

• To provide and maintain calendar, market day, event, and learning content.
• To send push notifications about new content and app updates.
• To display advertising that helps keep the app free to use.
• To understand aggregate usage and improve the Service.
• To operate and secure our internal content-management tools.

Third-Party Services

The Service relies on the following third parties:

• Google Firebase (Analytics, Cloud Messaging) — Google Privacy Policy
• Google AdMob (advertising) — How Google uses information from AdMob
• MongoDB Atlas — database hosting for calendar content and admin accounts.

These providers may process data on servers located outside your country of residence.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers listed above, as necessary to operate the Service, or if required by law.

Your Choices

• You can disable push notifications at any time in your device's system settings.
• You can reset or limit your device's advertising identifier, or opt out of personalized ads, in your device's privacy/ads settings.
• If you have an admin dashboard account and would like it deleted, contact us using the details below.

Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Data Retention & Security

We retain content and admin account data for as long as needed to operate the Service. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
